[edit] These sections are more or less done and just need minor edits:
- Lead section - This section is the hook which sets the tone and makes you want to read the whole article. Main thing I did was to emphasise the link between Cpn and chronic disease, and reference them. Thats the whole thing which makes studying Cpn worthwhile and interesting. As an acute respiratory agent it is neither worthwhile nor interesting!
- Timeline - I added a timeline because I wanted to emphasize that (knowledge of) this bacterium hasn't been around long, which partly explains why people know so little about it. If any other key events come to mind, add them in (reference if possible).
- Life cycle diagram - I redid this diagram from scratch. The old one did not show the different stages of the Cpn lifecycle. New diagram shows EB, RB and CF. If you want to make any changes just let me know and I can easily amend.
- Athersclerosis
- Alzheimer's
[edit] These sections need to be written:
- Treatment - talk about multiple antibiotics needed - one for each lifecycle stage.
- Persistent State - key paragraph. Why treating Cpn is not trivial.
- Pneumonia/Acute infection - rather than have the whole article about this as before, just need a small paragraph as these things are pretty straight forward.
- Dissemination paragraph - how Cpn disseminates throughout the body via the lungs. Different types of cell it can infect. This is key as Cpn is not (just) a lung infection.
- Asthma
- MS - this should be easy to do. Lots of references available. Difficulty will be condensing it down to 1 paragraph.
- RA
- Research Difficulties - Due to intracellular nature & persistence. Why do results differ so much - e.g. PCR results of studies. Great resistance within some areas of clinical medicine for infections as cause of chronic disease (e.g. h. pylori).
- Cause vs Effect - Is CPn the cause of all these diseases or is it just a pillion-passenger? Answer likely to be both.
- Testing - Debate on PCR vs Antibody (with references if possible). NAC test?
- Miscellaneous
- External links - add in links to *major* sites of interest only. Any major source which hasn't been referenced above can go here.
