My name is Daniel and I am going to be attending The University of Washington: Tacoma in the fall of 2007 I will be getting a bachelor of science in computer engineering.
This Emphasis seems right for me because of my hobbies.

With the recent release of Ubuntu Fiesty Fawn (available here,) I decided to try out linux again. I've tried to use linux before but it has always been problematic on my hardware, but according to the hype, 7.04 was supposed to be easier than ever to use, so I thought that I would give it a try again. Well this time the hype was correct. It is easier to use/setup and, unlike windows, it has a wide, helpful user support base.
Now I'm running ubuntu on my laptop and I LOVE IT!!! It comes bundled with all the programs I used in windows but, THEY'RE FREE! Now I am using ubuntu on my laptop and I haven't touched my windows install in weeks.
[edit] Water/Oil submersion Cooled MythTv Media Center
I found a couple of linux distros that uses the mythTV package to create a front/back end for a TiVolike media center. Depending on how easily I can get the parts I need, I am building either a water cooled or a oil-submersion cooled media center pc based on mythTV.
[edit] Electric Lawn Tractor
My Grandfather has a old riding lawnmower that threw it's rods.
I got a cool idea:
- remove old engine
- remove mowing deck
- remove everything else not necessary
- add electric motor and batteries
- tie into propulsion system
Voile: electric tractor I have yet to see how well this will work
