Talk:Danny Pintauro
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Why is the comment about how he appeared on the cover of "The Advocate" relevant? I realize his primary claim to fame as of 2003 is his open homosexuality as a celebrity, but if we listed every magazine cover every celebrity appeared on in their wiki entries, it'd be pretty silly. I'm removing it. 68.222.10.9 08:17, 21 Dec 2003 (UTC)
The fact that he appeared on the cover of the advocate was important in his life
- It's not like the article is too long. It's a stub!
[edit] Pintauro's sex ad on Manhunt.com
It's relevant because all celeb bios make reference to the subject's appearance in porn, if such references apply (of course).
- "According to Campfire Video (Link removed), Mr. Pintauro has taken out an add on the adult gay male website (Link removed) advertising that he is looking for sexual playmates. The ad includes nude photographs of Mr. Pintauro."
Wikipedia policy regarding Biographies of Living Persons states: "Articles about living persons, which require a degree of sensitivity, must adhere strictly to Wikipedia's content policies. Be very firm about high-quality references, particularly about details of personal lives. Unsourced or poorly sourced negative material about living persons should be removed immediately from both the article and the talk page."
The link has been removed and the matter turned over the living persons biographies noticeboard for resolution. In the interim please refrain from reinstating the link until the matter is resolved. Philbertgray 14:57, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I guess I missed something sub...something about the policy, though I must admit that reading it, and my previous contribution, I agree. I am gay, 32 years old, and I credit Dan Pintauro, Jeremy Miller and Omri Katz for the fact that I survived the (double! triple!) teenage hell of being gay, an autoshop grease-head, and in high school. I think nothing of Pintauro's recent indiscretion - after all, he just want to a) get laid, and b) find a mate, just like everyone who had a more normal childhood. OTOH, perhaps hormones intervened on my part; Dan is someone I'd love to take out to dinner. And perhaps coffee. A double-double, even?
- I can relate to Dan's position: there are lots of naked pictures of me floating around the Internet, though none which actually make the body-to-face connection. My personals change the lighting and the background between body and face for the reason of plausible deniability. Next: celebrity is bullshit, acting is a job which merely gives you fame but you still put on your pants one leg at a time - you're still just a guy. I learned this when I worked at SkyDome - Harry Belafonte, Howard Stern and Garth Brooks were some of the nicest people for whom I've done house sound, the (now) has-beens and one-hit-wonders were the biggest assholes. (Note to future celebs: be nice to your technical crew, because they can make you look and sound really bad, or they can make you look and sound really good. And we're not even the reason you sound or look bad, if you're an asshole, we just won't give you that warm sound and fuzzy camera next time you show up hung over!)
- To you, Dan, if you're reading (and one of your screen names lights up across Google, which implies a certain Internet savvy and hopefully a desire to look yourself up on Wikipedia on occasion), thank you. I will forever owe you, an obviously gay man (even if you hadn't figured it out then, WE did, though this particular author didn't figure himself out until 1995) on a major sitcom (which I only watched because of you) for my oh-so-tenuous grip on some semblance of sanity. You have a friend. Consider yourself hugged. And take the hand off the package next time you photograph it... you made me have to imagine far too much.
- Oh yeah, and Dan, don't bother to e-mail me if you don't think a car engine block wouldn't look pretty, properly cleaned and machined, as a coffee table in the middle of my fabulous (fantasy) Art Deco and 1920s Craftsman living room. Ask any mechanic how a freshly machined and painted Slant-6 block would look with stainless steel bolts holding a Lucite top to the cylinder head milling. Cute only goes so far. The love of the art of the machine is essential.
- Heh. The futility of looking for another gay man who thinks machines are beautiful. I'll be single forever.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Pintauro WTB.jpg
Image:Pintauro WTB.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
