Ha. Euphemism of the year. In plain English: "It is popular because it ripped off the Beatles rather than, say, the Andrews sisters."

Of course, with this sort of artistic terrorism, you can never quite have your complete outrage. Let us say I decided to "mix" the sistine chapel's ceiling with generous helpings of my own excrement (or, someone else's). You're still going to have Michelangelo's work coming through here and there, and thus those portions of the art can be claimed for the "Artist" who did the "Mixing". "when he remixed The Beatles (more commonly known as The White Album)" I think this should say "when he remixed The Beatles' self titled album The Beatles (more commonly known as The White Album)" or something to this affect

This is a rather selfish request, but I'd be interested to hear more about his remixing of local artists like Neutral Milk Hotel. It is interesting to me that Danger Mouse draws from the work of such groups, they're pretty far from the DJing scene as far as I know. It would serve to more clearly define his style and identify some of his musical influences.

Can someone confirm the DJ's proper name (i.e. the one that he uses for CDs etc.) as opinion seems to be divided between "Danger Mouse" and "Dangermouse" even in this article; especially as it refers to him as "Danger Mouse" who got his name from the cartoon "Dangermouse". And on a totally seperate note, I would also be very grateful if someone could suggest where one might be able to download some of his early local work, esp. with NMH.--Rubie 09:53, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Oppose - well I don't really oppose which is why I'm not voting right now - but I think the new title is too easily confused with Dangermouse, whose real name I'm told is actually Danger Mouse. Given the article about the cartoon is at Dangermouse I assumed that's the correct spelling (this link, which appears to be official, has it with a capital M, but still without space). Such, I think it would be sufficient to have a disambig link at the top of this article (once it's moved to Danger Mouse) to the article about the cartoon. --Fritz S. (Talk) 23:27, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
I believe you are technically correct about the cartoon character's name, but isn't there some guideline about arriving at the least surprising page? Check out for example the caption in the picture at the top of the Dangermouse article, the errors made in editing that article, Dangermouse's initials (DM), the origin (Danger Man), and this Google search. I think it should be properly disambiguated at Dangermouse and Danger Mouse, leading to Dangermouse (cartoon) and Danger Mouse (DJ). But then I don't really understand the disambiguation process too well. -- Jim182 23:49, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
As it seems both are spelled different I would prefer it if we avoid a disambiguation page and the descriptions in the articles' titles in parenthesis and just have a disambig notice at the top of each article, leading to the other one (like the one currently at Dangermouse). Although you are correct and both seem to be often misspelled (however the two most prominent links on your google search, one to a fansite for the cartoon and the other for the producer's official homepage, spell it correctly). However, if we are to disambig the titles, I think DangerMouse (cartoon) and Danger Mouse (producer) would be the better titles.

  • At some point I will put in a request to have Dangermouse renamed to DangerMouse, since all the official documentation I can find suggests that as the proper spelling. ?!? If you want the article to be moved to DangerMouse, what would DangerMouse (cartoon) be for? If we decide to have the article about the cartoon at DangerMouse and the article about the producer at Danger Mouse we can avoid any disambiguation parenthesis and just put a note about the other at the top of each article. --Fritz S. Because the proper spelling for the cartoon is in one word ("DangerMouse"), while the proper spelling for the artist is two words ("Danger Mouse"). If you write it in one word, you get the article for the cartoon with a link to the artist, when you write it in two it's vice versa. --Fritz S. (Talk) 19:11, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
