Photo taken by a friend in Winter 1961 at the Hardway (near Priddy's Hard) Portsmouth. Denys Rayner stands on the port deck of one of his designs - the Beacon 'Corvette'. His youngest son Vyvyan is just visible in the companionway. Jack Hargreaves stands watching as the yacht he has commissioned from Rayner is prepared for its first sail. Simon Baddeley, Hargreaves stepson, who was to sail the Corvette to Athens and back with her skipper Chris Jameson, stands by the masthead on the roof of the Landrover.
