The Dano '63 Bass is an electric bass guitar made by Danelectro for 2008. The body is based on the 1963 Silvertone 1457 guitar. It comes in two versions, a long scale bass with a 34 inch neck and a short scale bass with a 29.5 inch neck. Both versions have a retail price of $349.[1] Bass Player magazine favorably reviewed both basses in April 2008, saying "Blended, the pickups made a sproingy mid-scoop that sounded especially fabulous with a pick and palm-muting, like the tic-tac-style bass lines Danelectro basses and baritones were used for on early-’60s Nashville hits."[2] In the May 2008 issue of Guitarist magazine, both of the Dano '63 basses were favorably reviewed, with the long scale being chosen as a "Guitarist Choice."[3]
