Danisco A/S is a Danish food production company. They sell a wide variety of pharmaceutical grade exipients.
Danisco is one of the world's leading producers of ingredients for food and other consumer products.
The group employs approximately 10,000 employees in more than 40 countries and reported revenue of DKK 20.36 billion in 2006/07.
Danisco's broad technology platform and product portfolio includes emulsifiers, enzymes, stabilisers, cultures, sugar and sweeteners such as xylitol and fructose. The majority of these ingredients are produced from natural raw materials. Their products are mainly used in the food industry, for instance, to improve the texture in bread and ice cream but are also applied to feed, cleaning, textiles and plastics.
Danisco is also one of the largest and most efficient sugar producers in Europe. Recently however, Danisco has said it is investigating the possibillity of selling their sugar devision[3]. Among the potential buyers are both industrial investors and a group of Danish sugarbeet farmers[4], however an IPO also remains an option.

A considerable proportion of the employees are engaged in research and development of new and more consumer friendly products for the international food industry. Today, the Group holds more than 2,000 active patents and patent applications.
