Daniel Jimmy Viteri (born 12 December 1981) is an Ecuadoran football player, who plays goalkeeper for Liga de Quito and the Ecuadorian national soccer team.

He has played for CS Emelec and Deportivo Quito. As of 2008 he plays for LDU Quito [1]

He has played for the Ecuador national football team and was a participant at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He recently played the first 2 matches of the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers for his country after untimely injuries to both Marcelo Elizaga and Javier Klimowicz. Cristian Mora of El Nacional was called up as an emergency substitute. He played against Venezuela and Brazil, respectively. They had a poor start, losing both matches. Against Venezuela, Viteri failed to reach a somewhat easy free-kick by Jose Manuel Rey. The 46-yard power shot was the only goal of the match.

Against Brazil, Viteri's performance was not as the coach expected.. After losing 5-0, he was criticized for not getting to a low, weak shot by Kaka. Quickly, he got on his knees to make the save. He got it, but it slipped out of his reach and went into the net for the fifth goal at the packed Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
