[edit] Career

[edit] Real Betis

Dani has so far spent his whole career at Real Betis. He played for Real Betis B between 1998 and 2001. During the 1999/2000 season he scored 6 goals in 27 games. Dani has played 79 La Liga matches from 2001, through to 2006, scoring 19 goals. Dani was knocked unconscious during a league game against Deportivo in November 2003 and was unable to remember a disallowed goal he had scored during the game. Dani is noted for having made a number of extremely important contributions to Real Betis. His greatest goal was the winner in the final of the Copa del Rey against Osasuna in 2005. The goal came in extra-time as Betis won 2-1. Dani also scored the only goal in a 1-0 win against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League during the 2005/2006 season. Dani also scored against Real Madrid on January 18, 2007, eliminating Real Madrid from the Copa del Rey. His equalizing goal gave Real Betis a 1-1 draw, putting them through to the quarter-finals on the away goal rule. Although he is contracted to Real Betis till 2010, he has stated that the 2006/2007 season will be his last at Real Betis, with a move to Cádiz CF reported to be on the horizon.
