Dan Jacobs (born 1942) is an internationally acclaimed jazz trumpet recording artist, composer and producer who has toured extensively worldwide with various groups.[1] He also plays flugelhorn.
He has performed in concert with a variety of public touring acts such as Bob James, Woody Herman, Gene Krupa, Mel Tormé, Wayne Newton, Linda Rondstadt, Aaron Neville, Frank Sinatra, Jr., The Four Tops, Johnny Mathis, Bobby Vinton, Al Green, Kenny Rogers, Billy Dean, The Lettermen, and others; he performed in over 500 shows with the Jesus Christ Superstar road show.
He has been a featured soloist at The Newport Beach Jazz Festival, The Los Angeles Jazz Festival, The Orange County Live Music Festival, The Long Beach Jazz Festival, Freedom Jazz Festival, The Boise Jazz Festival, The Venetian Festival, Suttons Bay Jazz Festival, The Old Town Jazz Festival, The Rivertown Jazz Festival, The Notre Dame Jazz Festival and more. He has also been a featured clinician and guest artist with many High School, College and University jazz bands around the country.
He was featured in an artist interview with Jazz Improv Magazine in 2004 and as a Navy Band musician while attending the prestigious Navy School of Music, Dan was honored to participate as part of the honor guard for the funeral of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 in Washington, DC.
As a co-owner of Simplicity Records, Inc. , Inc., Dan and [2] Chuck Jacobs produced over 30 CD's for other world-class artists gaining distribution throughout the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe, Taiwan and China.
