Dandy Xtreme is the new name for the British comic The Dandy after it underwent a dramatic change on August 2, 2007 (issue 3426). The comic now has 36 pagesall together like the old comic and the classic comic characters no longer grace the cover. The only Dandy Xtreme to feature characters on the cover as the main focus was the "MegaComix special".

[edit] Comix
Comix is the new way of referring to the comic strips in the Dandy. Originally, it was a 16 page pull-out, but after a few months reverted back to being randomly placed in the comic. Current comic strips include:
- Desperate Dan
- Jak and Todd
- Puss 'n' Boots
- Ollie Fliptrik
- Jumbo of the Jungle
- Brain Duane
- Cuddles and Dimples
- Blinky
- Owen Goal
- Pinky's Crackpot Circus
Most of the following are reprint, excluding the last three. These no longer feature:
- Strange Hill School
- Bananaman, who is soon making a comeback
- Beryl the Peril
- The Smasher
- Red Hot Chilli Dogs
- My Own Genie
- Captain Hookless
- Lucy Grimm
[edit] Features
In most issues, there are around 20-25 pages of features. These include:
- Gag Masters - Jokes
- You're having a BARF! - Gross fact page(s)
- Movie reviews (Simpsons, Indiana Jones, Hulk, etc.)
- Eat My Goal - Football page(s)
- Xtreme Games Central - Reviews of games
- Xtreme Nerve Centre - Readers pages, for drawings, gross poems and jokes. More recently, the drawings are including non-Dandy characters, such as Sonic and Super Mario.
- Competitions
- Games/Puzzles
- Advert for following issue
[edit] Infamous price hike and confusions
In the issue no. 3447, it told readers that the next issue would be priced at "Only £2.25", meaning that they would have to pay an extra 26p. When the advert appeared in the Beano the following week, it said that it would cost £2.50, meaning that the issue would be 51p more expensive. The actual comic was £2.50, and apparently had 7 "free gifts". These free gifts turned out not to be free at all, and the issue no. 3449 would cost, as usual, £1.99. This issue is to have the usual 3 free gifts. Also, the issue costing £2.50 causes some confusion. The cover says "Every Fortnight" by the logo. The sale date is, strangely, written as "05-JUNE-08 - 13-JUNE-08", suggesting that the comic is weekly. Inside, there is an advert for the next issue. It begins with, "Get ready for a soaking with next week's Dandy Xtreme", obviously suggesting that it is a weekly publication. But, below, near the bottom of the page, it says "Don't miss it! On sale - Thursday 19th June Only £1.99", which suggests that it is fortnightly.
