Dana James Eveland (born October 29, 1983 in Olympia, Washington) is a left-handed Major League Baseball starting pitcher for the Oakland Athletics. Eveland throws a four-seam fastball, slider, changeup, and a curveball. He is 6'1 and weighs 258 pounds.
Eveland went to Palmdale High School in Palmdale, California, graduating in 2001.[1] After one year at Hill Junior College in Hillsboro, Texas, he transferred to College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California.[2] On July 16, 2005, Eveland made his Major League debut. Eveland was traded by the Brewers to the Arizona Diamondbacks on November 5, 2006 along with Doug Davis and Dave Krynzel in exchange for Greg Aquino, Johnny Estrada and Claudio Vargas. On December 14, 2007, Eveland was dealt again as part of a 6-player trade to the Oakland Athletics for Dan Haren and Connor Robertson.[3]
Eveland's brother, Kyle, was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 43rd round of the 2005 June free agent draft.[1]
