Dan J. Stein

Dan Joseph Stein, BSc (Med), MB ChB, FRCPC, PhD is Professor and Chair of the Dept of Psychiatry and Mental Health at the University of Cape Town,[1] and Director of the MRC Unit on Anxiety and Stress Disorders at the University of Stellenbosch. Stein is the co-director of the Cross-University Brain and Behaviour Initiative.[2] He is also a Visiting Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in New York.[3]

He is co-editor of the "Textbook of Anxiety Disorders",[4] and author of "Cognitive-Affective Neuroscience of Depression and Anxiety Disorders".[5] He has published extensively on the psychobiology and treatment of the anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders. In addition to journal articles, he has written or contributed to more than twenty books and textbooks.
