Daniel "Dan" Ferreira was a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. He was portrayed by Dalip Tahil.

When Dan first arrived, he was portrayed as a womaniser and a bully who had an obsession with Elvis Presley. He claimed to be a widower and talked about his wife as being dead both to the neighbours and to his children, but in reality they had separated after she'd had an affair with his best friend, whom she moved in with.

EastEnders scriptwriter Tony Jordan revealed that the show had intended to have Dan murdered by his children after prolonged bullying and abuse. However, the actor Dalip Tahil was removed from the set after it was discovered he did not have a vaild work permit. Dan was hastily written out of the show off-screen, and 50 scripts were re-written with the murder storyline being replaced with one concerning a kidney transplant between Ronny and his newly-discovered half brother Tariq.

It was revealed that Dan had cleared out the account and left his children £12,000 in mortgage arrears.

In his absence, the show struggled to find storylines for his children, who were eventually dropped from the series in late 2004 (they continued to appear until 2005).
