Daniel Donnelly (born 1974) is a New York based singer-songwriter.

Growing up in Belfast, Donnelly played in a number of local bands, finding success in Ireland with Watercress, a four piece acoustic folk-rock band for whom he played guitar, mandolin, percussion and "plumbing" (a home-made didgeridoo), and shared the vocals and songwriting with guitarist Brian Acton. The lineup was completed by Bruce Cabbyge on double bass and Phil Duffy on drums. They released six EPs between 1995 and 1998, when they released their one album, Bummer, all on their own local label, Creeping Herb.

After Watercress split up, Donnelly moved to New York to pursue a solo career. Using the pseudonym Sonovagun, he has so far released one solo album, Bootleg (2005), and in 2007 released a second entitled Yearning a Living. He has toured extensively, performing solo shows and supporting artists such as The Levellers, Oysterband and Seth Lakeman, as well as performing as part of the Levellers' live band. His own live band has included Ali McMordie of Stiff Little Fingers on bass guitar and Roy Harter on keyboards and theremin. In 2006, Donnelly played the main stage of The Beautiful Days festival in Exeter. He has also played and recorded with Joy Zipper. In 2007 he supported and played with The Oysterband for their UK tour in November and December.

As a boy, Donnelly's main musical influence was Liverpool band The Beatles.
