Damone Edwards (born November 26, 1987 in Monterey, California) Is an American college football running back at San Jose State University.
He attended Independence High School in San Jose, California. In 2005 he was named First Team All-CCS and ran for 2,687 yards, including 37 touchdowns. He went on to play for the Spartans, where in three years he has already run for over 5,369 yards. He is said to be the "Next Best Thing" in college football.
In 2005, Edwards' freshman year at SJSU, he earned a Western Athletic Conference freshman record, with 2,121 yards and 9 touchdowns. In 2006, he ran for 1,875 yards, as many defenses keyed in on him, yet was still able to dominate the WAC. In 2007, he slowed down a bit, running for 1,373 yards. He did score 23 touchdowns and one theft to lead the WAC in scoring.
