Background

I am a technological researcher, architect interested in The Cause of Architecture and the problems of city and regional planning, I may be contacted via my "discussion page" in the menu above or User_talk:Dab295,

Concept

What I am calling the KYMAK concept was developed from 20 years of research beginning in 1957 as a senior student of Architecture to when I first discovered it in 1977. I have continued for now more than 30 years to 2008 to develop the concept. These marvelous discoveries established a Point of Beginning on the Temple Lot in Independence, Missouri.

Drawings I have made of the Temple Lot:

1. 1929 Excavation showing the location of two marker stones discovered then and which I notice indicate buildings are to be aligned with the existing road in 1831 (now Lexington Street) on the North side - http://www.geocities.com/douglas36601/pob1831.jpg

2. 15 acre block showing my view concerning the orientation and location of the twelve temples proposed in 1831 by the Prophet Joseph Smith - http://www.geocities.com/douglas36601/15_acre_block.jpg

3. Aerial photo - http://terraserverusa.com/image.aspx?T=1&S=10&Z=15&X=1882&Y=21638&W=1&qs=%7cIndependence%7cMO

From this information it logically follows that the entire city being proposed was to be oriented according to the positions or the two marker stones, as shown in drawings above - also see, Plat of Zion. If Kirtland Temple had been aligned with the existing road it too would have conformed to this orientation. Salt Lake City is located so that it is only 15 miles north of the diagonal line bearing westward. However that orientation was not foreseen by either Joseph Smith or Brigham Young nor any of the splinter group leaders. They can hardly admit it even now; yet on close examination it is obvious to any interested and unbiased observer.

4. Map of Kirtland - http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=41.6253&lon=-81.362044&datum=nad83

A cadastral survey would have logically followed these guidelines.
