D. C. Somervell

David Churchill Somervell (1885-1965) was a teacher at Tonbridge School in England. He was a historian, and prolific author.
He is probably best known for his abridgement (still in print) of Arnold J. Toynbee's A Study of History
He also wrote a very useful book titled "A short History of our Religion", published in 1922.
