D'Wayne Lavoris Bates (born December 4, 1975 in Aiken, South Carolina) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League. Bates played three seasons with the Chicago Bears (1999-2001) and two with the Minnesota Vikings (2002-2003). He attended Northwestern University.
Bates attended Silver Bluff High School in Aiken, where he was a teammate of current St. Louis Rams strong safety Corey Chavous.
He currently teaches high school(history), coaches football and Girls basketball in Evanston, Illinois.
