Itter is an urban bourough of Düsseldorf. It is located near to the river Rhine, neighboring to Himmelgeist, Holthausen and Reisholz. Its name comes from the rivulet Itter.

Itter was written mentioned first time in the 12. century A.C.. The romanic church of Itter is from the 12. century, it exists still today. From the 12. to 15. century Itter belonged to the convent of Kaiserswerth. Up from the 15. century Itter was an autonomous parish. In 1908 Itter was suburbanized by Benrath, in 1929 by Düsseldorf.

There are 4 bus lines in Itter, but no tram lines. One freeway - fellowing a federal road - goes across Itter.
