[edit] Plot
The agents are called in when a boatload of survivors from a US Navy Destroyer are found. What particularly catches Mulder's inquisitive eye is that all of these sailors appear to have aged many decades in the course of days. Mulder and Scully travel to Norway where they find a captain with a ship to take them where the Destroyer might be found.

[edit] Trivia
- The title, Død Kalm, is probably meant to resemble Norwegian for Dead Calm. The word død actually means dead. However, kalm is not a Norwegian word. The literal translation would be "Dødelig Ro" (a deadly calm), whereas the proper translation (a quiet sea without waves) would be "Vindstille" or "Blikkstille".
- The Norwegian dialog is at some points less than grammatically correct, nor is the pronunciation Norwegian. The sound of those speaking Norwegian is more similar to untrained English speaking natives reading a Norwegian text.
- The area around Lofoten displayed on a map in the episode has no known anomalies like the episode describes. It is a well visited tourist area, and there is extensive fishing in the water.
- Mulder states that a Royal Navy battleship disappeared "between Leeds and Cape Perry". Leeds is an inland industrial city in England many miles from the coast.
- There is a USS Ardent (MCM-12) currently in service with the US Navy. That might be the destroyer (even though it is a mine countermeasures ship) used in the show.
