Cynthia "Original Cindy" McEachin is a fictional television character portrayed by Valarie Rae Miller.[1] in the 2000-2002 cyberpunk television program (by James Cameron) Dark Angel.

Cynthia, known as "Original Cindy" to all who encounter her is the best friend of genetically engineered Max Guevara who stars this series. Original Cindy works with Max and others (Sketchy, etc.) as a bike messenger at Jam Pony. She counsels Max and provides plenty of sassy advice throughout the series.

Original Cindy learns Max's secret in episode 13 of the first season, Rising. In the episode circumstances cause Max to have to rescue her from cybernetically revved up soldiers known as "Reds". There are complications after the rescue which lead to Original Cindy discovering at least that Max isn't your ordinary average woman and then Max confesses her secret to her, fearing Original Cindy will abandon their friendship. Of course she doesn't and becomes another protector of her secret.[2]

Original Cindy is a supporting character of the show but does appear in many of the episodes -- she later has one of her own in which an old girlfriend, Diamond Lutrell, shows up wanting to get back with her. The episode is Shorties' In Love and is also the episode where the character reveals her full name.[3]
