Talk:Cydonia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Would someone please turn my 3 definitions into an unordered list. Thank you. There are some additional "Cydonias" -- a mountain in Pennsylvania, etc. which can be added as well. Cydonia is also a flavor of salt.

[edit] Preponderant name

This page should be a simple redirect to Kydonia, the ancient city in Greece, for which a huge corpus of data and in-links exist. The other items should be disambiguated by a new page: Cydonia (disambiguation). A hatnote atop the Kydonia page will direct users to the disambig page. Any comments ....please make here. Cheers. Honestly I don't feel like turning the current disambig page into a redirect to Kydonia. I'm not so sure that everyone looking for "Cydonia" on Wikipedia is looking for info on the Greek city: the first thing I think of when someone mentions "Cydonia" is the Mars region, so I think keeping the current disambig is somewhat better. In any event, if we decide to keep the disambig I think we should also clean it up a bit. Berserker79 (talk) 09:31, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I concur with Berserker. I typed "Cydonia" into the search bar looking for the genus, not the city. There doesn't seem to be sufficient evidence that the city is the primary target. As for the cleanup, I just finished reformatting according to WP:MOSDAB. Neelix (talk) 15:10, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
