[edit] Israel's nuclear program
- Note that Fâtimâh bint Fulâni (talk · contribs · block log) was found out to be a banned sock puppet of kirbytime. --Matt57 (talk•contribs) 02:26, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Does anyone disagree?--Fâtimâh bint Fulâni 15:48, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I expect most people do. If you wanted to provide some evidence, however, that is specific to Israel and not to every other country with a nuclear program, that would be helpful. IronDuke 16:02, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Mordechai Vanunu.--Fâtimâh bint Fulâni 01:30, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

- Vanunu may be a current event now that he is being sentenced again, but he is only tangential to the article Nuclear weapons and Israel, so there is no reason to make that a current event as well. Joshdboz 11:43, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
In any case, Israel's nuclear program, along with North Korea's is ongoing. It is a current event. So is the United States' nuclear program. But NOT the Soviet Union's nuclear program. If not for being a current event, what is the criteria for inclusion in the current events sidebar?--Fâtimâh bint Fulâni 21:36, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Something like Israel giving up it's nuclear weapons program could be tagged, except only that section would warrant a tag, not the whole article, and not for very long. IronDuke 21:47, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Any policy/guidelines which explain this? I'm going by the common sense right now.--Fâtimâh bint Fulâni 22:13, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- If you click on the current events link in the tag, you get this [1]. As you see, those current events refer to acute events, as it were, not chronic, ongoing issues. IronDuke 22:35, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Yes, this is getting ridiculous. This would be like putting a current events tag on United States just because it still exists and is changing. Joshdboz 01:43, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Elections
I don't know if I was too early (although nothing seems to be said that) but I've added the October elections for Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario. I've put since the early-August ones seems to be still there.--JForget 19:37, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'd suggest only putting one month of elections at a time and is there are too many, split them in two. Therequiembellishere (talk) 10:21, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
