  • Stock markets in the US and Europe have fallen again on fears that key global economies will enter recession, London's FTSE 100 Index at one point today fell as much as 3.9% but has since recovered slightly and is now trading between 1 and 2% lower and the Dow Jones, the one that everyone is blaming for this global crisis fell dramatically by over 200 points in the first 30 minutes of being open, and is now trading in an extremely volatile manner between 1 and 2% lower, readers are referred here for the current information. This brings the FTSE 100 Index to around 14% lower than when the year started, wiping 228bn off the total value of the companies listed on the index. This however is not as bad as Germany's DAX which this year has lost almost 20% making it the hardest hit in Europe. BBC news

  • The man who leaped from a hotel balcony in Crete, John Hogan, has has been cleared of murdering his son Liam and attempting to murder his daughter Mia, by a Greek court. BBC news

  • Fears of a US recession have lead to global falls in stock markets, the London FTSE 100 index fell by more than 3% to around 5350 points in the first 10 minutes of being open, it then recovered and is now trading at around 1% higher to 1% lower, but readers are refered here for the current information.   • The leader of the Liberal Democrats has said that the Liberal Democrats will not support a referendum, thus deliverng a severe blow to the Conservatives and rebel Labor MPs who were counting on their support for a referendum. BBC news
