A Cumberland point is a rare stone artifact whose original purpose was that of a hunting tool. Attached to a wooden spear, these heavy points were intended for use as thrusting weapons and employed by various nomadic mid-Paleo peoples (circa 10,000 BC) across North America in the killing of large game mammals. Noted for their sleek design and rarity, Cumberland points are among the most sought-after, desired, and valuable of all stone artifacts occurring in the present-day United States.
