If this article is to be deleted then so shall the article under the same heading in reference.com as they are nearly identicle save that this article has cut out a few superfluous words. I would like to see more information on what exactly defines a consumer and a capitalist nation for all those who may not be aware of these concepts and their direct application to Americans.

FTA: "Motivated by the accumulation of personal wealth (not always in the terms of cash flow); the idea that the business' desire for profit is the main motivation of the economy, regardless of environmental issues."

This is incorrect, many capitalists regard market forces as a viable pro-environment force. Also, some consider environmental issues to be property rights issues. Sources:
