I don't remember any reference to "crystal knives" in any of the Dune books, so I edited out that bit; does someone have info justifying it? Willbyr 23:37, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

It just sounded like the obvious origin of the word to me. Worm teeth are made of crystal, and crysknives are made of worm teeth. Hence, crys(tal )knife. Then again, "crysknife" might also refer to the kris - but I think it's a coincidence. 220.237.67.125 09:46, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

What is this stuff about fixed/unfixed crysknifes and electromagnetic fields? I've checked the books (old not the new) and not come across this. Also the original books do not reference an electromagnetic field, they simply say that when the owner of a crysknife dies his crysknife turns to dust. Finally - it appears the electronic field info was lifted word for word from here: http://www.technovelgy.com/ct/content.asp?Bnum=520

Hi Willbyr. I withdraw my comments. The definitions are consistent with what I found in the Dune Encyclopedia. I'll have to doublecheck the original books...

The crysknife is obviously related to the Jambiya. Insinuations that it is related to the kris are absurd as the kris is an Indian knife, the Jambiya is Middle Eastern. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.114.11 (talk) 12:50, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
