The controveries regarding this species are not adequately addressed in this article. In particular, this species is described in Norell M, Ji Q, Gao K, Yuan C, Zhao Y, Wang L. "Palaeontology: 'modern' feathers on a non-avian dinosaur". Nature 416 (6876): 36-7. PMID 11882883.  as having symmetical wings (indicating lack of flight)). If subsequent data has conclusively overturned the conclusions of the Nature article, this should be mentioned explicitly. Addtional citations should be given for many of the statements in this article, such as that this species may be a "junior synonym for Microraptor"
