Cryptomail

Cryptomail is a combined word of "cryptography" and "mail" which refers to the use of cryptography in e-mail to make the contents of the mail obscured in order to prevent people other than the sender and the recipient to read the content of the mail.

The original usage of the word is initiated from CryptoMail.org in 1999 when the organization provides their secure web-based e-mail service and e-mail system. Today, most e-mail clients such as Microsoft Office Outlook, Outlook Express and Kmail include facilities to send/receive encrypted e-mail.
