Crypto-politics

Crypto-politics or crypto-political refers to different yet related concepts:

  1. The secret adherence of a party or group to the doctrines of a political ideology while attempting to disguise it as another (e.g. crypto-fascism).
  2. An individual who admires a political ideology and desires its implementation as a political system, but keeps this admiration and desire hidden to avoid social persecution or political suicide (e.g. crypto-communist).
  3. Political activism conducted in such a way as to assure the concealment of both the activism itself and the identity of the activist.
  4. The intersection of public-key cryptography and public policy or a political ideology (e.g. crypto-anarchism).
  5. The process by which groups of people make decisions that affect all stakeholders without transparency or accountability (e.g. political corruption).
