Crush Luther is a pop-rock band that was formed in London, Ontario during early 2004. The original 4 members (Luther Mallory, Giggi Bongard, Brent Mills and Bodan Mulholland) worked together to build a strong catalogue of songs and sets before setting out to play shows in the Southern Ontario region. Towards the end of the same year, guitar player Matt Fury joined the band after learning the set the day before his first appearance with the band.
Since 2004, the band has released a 12 song demo in several formats and pressings. In late 2006, Crush Luther signed with Toronto based High 4 Records (owned and operated by Darrin Pfeiffer of Goldfinger), the same label to which the band Cauterize was signed. Their self-titled album was released February 13, 2007. The first single was "City Girl", which included a music video that was popular on both MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic. It also hit number one on the MuchMoreMusic countdown list. A second video entitled "The Cools" was released to radio and also had a music video.
Crush Luther has appeared on several stints of the Warped Tour ('05/'06/'07) in both Canada and the United States.
After the departure of Bo and Giggi from the band, the remaining members announced on October 17, 2007 that they were breaking up. A farewell tour was planned. On November 22, 2007, the band made another announcement that the band was not breaking up after all, and would continue as Crush Luther. In January 2008, it was announced that drummer Brent Mills would no longer be playing with the band. Later in the month, the band announced that Grand:PM bassist Dustin Wood would be joining the band. PJ Herrick was also announced as the new drummer. The band is still looking for a keyboard/guitarist to fill out their roster. At this point, only singer Luther Mallory remains from the original lineup.
