Tom is a mascot aboard a cruise ship bound for Honolulu and is warned by the captain that everything on the ship is brand new and that Tom will be replaced if a single mouse is found on board the ship. Tom starts searching the ship, but doesn't have to go far: Jerry is playing his ukulele on the way to boarding the ship. Jerry dances all the way up the ramp, but Tom kicks him out. Jerry skids into a batch of coconuts and gets one planted on his head. Jerry then proceeds to cross the rope tying the ship down, but Tom calmly snaps the rope and it flattens the mouse. Jerry then pole-vaults toward a porthole, but Tom shuts it on him. Jerry fortunately lands on the anchor and is taken up on deck. He then ties Tom's tail to a lifesaver ring labeled S.S. Aloha and makes a fake call for help. Tom throws out the ring and ends up throwing himself off the ship as it leaves dock.

Tom manages to get on the ship anyhow, soaking wet. He passes Jerry in a folding chair reading and fluffs up his quilt. Jerry salutes and Tom walks away before he turns back and nabs the mouse. Unfortunately, he falls onto the folding chair and is crushed inside it. Jerry slips up Tom as he passes by with a sponge and Tom salutes a passing captain as he is thrown off the ship.

Jerry gets into beach shorts and dives into a luxury pool while Tom emerges soaking wet again onto the stern. Tom dives into the pool as well as Jerry, but Jerry drains all the water out, causing Tom to hit his head and break apart.

Tom chases Jerry around the foghorn and is blasted with a jet of hot air when Jerry pulls the cord. Tom then corners Jerry with a shuffleboard stick, but must hide him as the captain is passing. Jerry then shunts Tom off the deck again, but Tom does not want fall into the water again, and so,acting quicking,he hangs on to the side of the ship.however, his nails end up scracthing the side of the side of the ship, and again he falls in the water. Jerry walks along the edge of the deck playing the ukulele, but Tom pokes his head up and Jerry flees into the booby hatch. Tom drops a firework inside, shuts the door, and waits. The explosion does not come. Tom is puzzled and pokes his head inside. Jerry was hiding inside the door; he kicks Tom inside, locks the door, and flees. Tom tries to yell for help, but the bomb explodes and the cat emerges out blackened.

Tom then chases Jerry into a theater where Texas Tom is being shown. The cat and mouse stop for a moment and watch themselves. Tom laughs when Jerry is beaten up, but Jerry sucks it up. When Jerry laughs at Tom, however, Tom is annoyed and throws Jerry off the ship and into the air, where he is caught by a seagull. Jerry whacks the bird with his ukulele, but realizes he's about to fall 700 feet. Jerry fortunately lands on the mast, falls into a vent, and drops into a tray of pancakes and sausage.

The captain congratulates Tom on keeping all the mice off the ship until breakfast is served and ukulele playing is heard inside the tray. It turns out to be the tray Jerry fell into. Jerry munches all the food.

Tom is thrown into the jail and watches as Jerry surfs to the coast of Hawaii, playing his ukulele all the while.
