CRU Group

CRU Group is a privately owned consulting organization focused on metals, electricity, fertilizers, and chemicals. It was founded in 1969 as Commodities Research Unit by Robert Perlman and John Horam, former journalists at The Economist. The founding Chairman was Sir Sigmund Sternberg. It currently employs over 200 people[1] and has has offices in London, Beijing, Singapore, Rhode Island, Sydney, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Rio de Janeiro, Seattle, Philadelphia, Santiago and Washington DC.
Its most significant subsidiary is the British Sulphur Corporation, ltd., which focuses its research on fertilizers. It publishes the academic journal Phosphorus and Potassium[2], among other publications and numerous reports. British Sulphur also organizes four annual conferences each year.[3] The nitrogen conference is considered the leading event in the industry.[4]
It is partnered with PointCarbon, an organization focused on the research of carbon dioxide.[5]
