[edit] Story
The game takes place exclusively in Kardia, a small town on the eastern tip of the Adonia continent that is surrounded by farmland.
The game opens with the protagonist, Raguna, wandering into town. Starved and dehydrated, he collapses in front of the house of a landowner named Mist. Raguna is suffering from amnesia, has no idea who he is or where he came from. Mist offers him a house on her land if he promises to work the land, and he gladly accepts.
Soon, Raguna earns a pass to the Carmite Cave. He defeats the monster at the end, the greater daemon, and is congratulated.
[edit] Basics
The game, mechanics-wise, stays true to its roots. In about 10 seconds, ten in-game minutes pass on a visible screen, like in most harvest moon games. You can still plant, and swinging tools decreases stamina. However, the usual game mechanic of purchasing animals has been replaced by befriending monsters in dungeons.
[edit] Reviews
The game received the score 33/40 (9/8/7/9) from Famitsu. Gamebrink gave it 91/100. Nintendo Power Magazine gave it a 7.0/10, and IGN gave the game an 8.4/10, saying that this is the Harvest Moon fans have been waiting for.
