[edit] One more go 'round
That is, if you have the time. Your eagle eye is needed in two more places related to the Black Hawk War. These two articles, Sinsinawa Mound raid and Plum River raid are the final two "battle articles" currently ready to go through GAC. The final remaining article, Battle of Bad Axe hasn't even been expanded yet, I have put it off to make sure everything else was in line first.
The two articles which require your expertise are somewhat special in terms of this conflict. First there is little research published about them, they are obscure and not very well known. These types of events are what GA was made for. Other articles of the like, albeit with slightly more available information, have made the cut after a bit of work, they are: Spafford Farm massacre and Buffalo Grove ambush, you can check those out for your reference. Thanks again, your rigorous editing is highly desirable. IvoShandor 10:09, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

| I IvoShandor bestow upon thee, Cricketgirl, this certificate of alliance in the name of Sauk Chief Black Hawk. Your consistent, and meticulous assessment of Black Hawk War related articles has been irreplaceable over the last couple months. The current status of many of these articles owe your red pen a glorious thank you, as do I. Thank you Cricketgirl. :) IvoShandor 11:26, 27 September 2007 (UTC) |

- Hello again, hope all is well. We are trying to get by without you, as tough a task as it is :). Here, you earned this one, Horseshoe Bend passed GA.

[edit] More stuff
I see you are still busy, hope everything is okay. :) Any requests above are long done, so you needn't worry about them. Two other articles could use your eyes if you return to us in time, Battle of Bad Axe and Attack at Ament's Cabin. Thanks. IvoShandor 07:24, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Nice to see you my cricket. Thanks for your work, again. :)IvoShandor 11:51, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Degrees are more important, indeed. Sorry about the illness, hope you recover quickly, your lack of appearances on wiki had me worried slightly, I must admit. I had noticed you moved the user box and award though, so I knew you were around somewhere. IvoShandor 11:57, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Everything looked good pretty much, I made a couple minor tweaks for clarity and then tried to clear up your note in the intro. I think it should be clear now, the commanders of the Native American band fled but many refused to go with them, thus, they stayed, and were slaughtered. IvoShandor 12:08, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

- Actually was online right now, making a couple Talk Page comments at 17P/Holmes. Thanks for the smile, I needed it. :) I think I just have to step back. I have found myself lashing out at people about things that normally wouldn't bother me. Things I am not even involved in have annoyed me lately. It just means I need a break I hope. Some editors have gotten under my skin lately, and I should have never allowed it, but it happened, so now I must step back for awhile. I am likely to drop in every once in awhile but my article writing rate is going to have to decrease dramatically for the time being, which could be awhile. See, look, I couldn't even stay away for a day, stupid comet! (see above). IvoShandor 10:33, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Help
Friend, This article Ayyavazhi is requested here for copy-edit for a long time. People are not ready to do the work; most probably because of the vast number of citations there and hence very labouriouse. But I as told earlier, want to nominate it for FAC.
I've created a seperate version of that article's present stage by ommitting all the footnote, additional sections, templates, ect and so now copy-editing it may be much easier. Please help me by copy-editing and cleaning-up article's this version. I may add footnotes and other things to it later, after you've finnished the work. Pls help me. - PaulRaj 18:28, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Well the fact you are not a football fan makes you the pefect person to review this article because I'm trying to write this article with users like you in mind. So if you read anything in the article which as a non-football fan, you don't understand please let me know. Buc 11:40, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Ok how about just giving the article a read I giving me feedback on the prose. Buc 18:28, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] CEC
Thanks for your notes. I looked up the CEC programme [1] and it does in fact list two examples of recent legislation they oppose: "The repeal of recent fascist laws that have taken away the civil rights of Australians, including the Federal Defence Legislation Amendment (Aid to Civilian Authorities) Act 2000, aka the "Shoot to Kill" bill, which allows the army to use "lethal force" against Australian citizens, and "racial vilification" legislation, such as the Victorian Racial and Religious Tolerance Act 2001, which allows the Establishment to fine or jail whomever they please, using politically correct pretexts." Both of these, however, are older than the bill I cited in the article, which they have also opposed. --Terrawatt 00:38, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Garsh!
Thanks for the kind words .... I had done some vandalism reverting a while ago, saw it pop up on my watchlist, and, upon seeing it, decided to get in there with the chainsaw. Again, thanks for the kindness.
I also see you are working on physics at Oxford ... I wish you the very best of luck. I hold a Masters in Physics Education, but that is a far cry from what you are doing.LonelyBeacon (talk) 23:31, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Samantha Neville
Hi Cricketgirl.
If the article were true, then the actress would probably be notable and your CSD request therefore doesn't work and has been removed.
The article doesn't appear to be true, but "hoax" isn't a speedy delete criterion. You may, however, want to comment on the AfD that was already in progress before you tagged the article. Thanks ➔ REDVEЯS would like to show you some puppies 23:26, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Greetings fellow Oxonian...
Which college are you at? (I'm at Hertford.) I'm also impressed by the fact that you're 19 and in final year - so you must have matriculated when you were only 17? (Plus, I freely admit that your subject is even tougher than mine...) WaltonOne 12:56, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- St John's... I don't know it well, but one of the best law lecturers (Prof Paul Craig) is a fellow there, so it must be OK. :-) If you want, I'll email you my real name and you can add me on Facebook. As to the Australian election, it's a shame - I always rather liked John Howard (we need more politicians like him in the Tory Party over here) but I suspect you won't agree. (My political views are in something of a minority at Oxford - for instance, I'm beginning to think I'm the only law student in the whole university who openly supports capital punishment.) :-) WaltonOne 14:31, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- Your "E-mail this user" button doesn't seem to be working... email me using Special:Emailuser/Walton One or on walton_m AT hotmail DOT co DOT uk if that doesn't work. WaltonOne 14:56, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Oxonians and other strange characters like WikiGnoms
Hallo, CricketGirl ! Als ich Dich auf der "Translation"-Site entdeckt habe und Deine Selbstbeschreibung im Profil, musste ich nun doch diese Frage bei Dir posten. Hast mich etwas neugierig gemacht. Was ist ein Oxonian ?? - Und was ein WikiGnom ??. Klingt lustig... Liebe Grüsse aus Hamburg. --ElJay Arem 01:33, 30 November 2007 (UTC) (P.S:: Ist doch O.K, dass ich Dir in Deutsch schreibe ?? (Englisch wäre für mich auch O.K.))
[edit] WP:CU
Hi Lendorien, you and I seem to be the only editors patrolling WP:CU, and to that end I wonder what you thought of my comment on the talk page, that is, if there are only one or two things "wrong" with an article, eg. need for citations and a copyedit, whether it would be better to tag them and remove them from the list, as a) this would shorten the list substantially, and b) my impression of "Cleanup" is that it's the overall term for these things, but only until more specific improvements can be specified. What do you think? Cheers, Cricketgirl (talk) 17:45, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- I don't have a problem with that. Really. My view is that we should try to get the articles put on the appropriate wikiproject. We should do general cleanup if we can and tag them as accurately as possible. Getting them under the appropriate wikiproject is key. They'll be more likely to get attention that way. I haven't had as much time to patrol Wikipedia lately. I've seen your work and give you Kudos. Thank you for doing what few other editors have been willing to tackle.--Lendorien 14:53, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Incorrect Orphan Tag
Welcome to Wikipedia. You placed an incorrect orphan templates on Eugene Gregan. I reverted this. All the best! Ohmpandya (talk) 02:06, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Incorrext Orphan Tag
Hello, Eugene Gregan has over 20 articles that link to it. Although the article is a stub (if it is possible help by expanding it) over 20 links on an article the length of Eugene Gregan is enough. Therefore the orphan tag is not needed. Thanks! Ohmpandya (talk) 20:53, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Wiggles
Hey Cricket,
I see that you are a member of Project Australia. I'm American myself, but my two little kids love The Wiggles (and I admit, I do too), so I've done a lot of work on their WP article. Currently, it's assessed as a B-article. I believe, after working on it, that it's better than that. Could you please take a look at it and see if you agree? My goal is to get it at FA status eventually. I know that I could just join the Project and assess it myself, but I'd like fresh, unbiased eyes to get more input. Thanks in advance, and Merry Christmas! --Figureskatingfan (talk) 05:58, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Reconsideration
Hi Cricketgirl,
I really wish to be clarified why the article "Center Tagumpay ng Katotohanan" was deleted after for almost a year its been posted.
It is NOT an advertisement nor a false gimmick/ black magic or propaganda but it only contains the TRUTHS of the Holy Spirits' works to date, the intention is to inform mankind that what is written in the scriptures are real and happening even today for the sake of people' s hope and faith in the Holy Spirit and for the benefit of this material world.
How I wish you could come to the place and see for yourselves the actual events of God' s direct works and maybe you, yourselves will write a better and a clear picture of what is happening and become part of the world' s history, a very important event to mankind.
Is the Holy Scriptures not enough as a verified written reference/ source of the words collaborated with the actual testimonies of the witnesses testifying the fullfillment of God' s promised that the Holy Spirit shall be sent to teach all things also of things that had not been seen, (also of things that are not written),unexpected things and the deep things of God and only the Holy Spirit could make it known.
Now if this is what is happening as written in the deleted article, which means that there are really no other verifiable articles/ books had been published yet and it is supposedly to be read first in Wikipedia, of which I wish to happen.
And as what the Holy Spirit said that the time has come to let mankind know where they could go (if they wish) and experience the Holy Spirits actual/ direct teachings, direct healing (without the use of any medium),direct guidance and direct governance and I could say that I was just fortunate enough (a first timer/ amateur writer) to tap your professionalized web site for it is free of charge, considering that the article is for the gain of mankind from God, also for free of charge.
Thus, please guide me to improve the article to suit your requirement and be part of the history and an opportunity to shape another legacy of our lives.(talk)
Very truly,
(bensj 09:59, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I wish to clear also, that the article features not the center but the ACTUAL AND DIRECT WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, thus mankind may know that God really fullfills His promises as stated in the Holy Scriptures where we could use in its citation and for those who seek direct and actual reliefs from God, at least they will know, through Wikipedia, that there's really an annointed place where to go like what happened before, where Israel was the chosen place, but at this time, its here in this specific location, so please help me how to transmit it in accordance to the rules.
Know, we are really writing a great history of tomorrow, and we shall all be part of it, a legacy that we will leave to our children.
I saved the latest copy of it at the time I sense that something is wrong and I do not know where, how and whom to explain, In case you have decided for its review, I am very much willing to send it, and I really beg for its reconsideration. Espiritista (talk)

Cricketgirl...I am currently in the process of writing a user box for all of the colleges that are part of Oxbridge. This template is meant to replace your current college template. Please take a look at the work in progress and comment on it. My main concerns are college abbreviations and color choice. I am using scarf colors for the colleges.
