I have looked up the rules on marking the infield, but the description in the article (apart from being obscure by itself) does not match the image. In the image an oval is formed in this way: behind each set of stumps a semi-circle of radius 30m centred on middle stump is drawn. The ends of each semi-circle are then joined with straight lines drawn parallel to the length of the wicket.
