The Creighton University School of Law is a part of Creighton University. After being founded in 1904, the law school was accredited by the ABA in 1924.

The range of LSAT scores of the full-time Fall 2007 entering class was 156 (75%) - 151 (25%). The GPA range was 3.68 (75%) - 3.23 (25%). 45.3% of full-time applicants were admitted.

[edit] Scholarships

The law school offers multiple types of scholarships to incoming 1L's as well as scholarships to returning 2L and 3L's. Examples include the Dean's Academic Scholarship and the Frances M. Ryan Diversity Scholarship (for minority students), and the A.A. and Ethel Yossem Scholarship (for Jewish students) for entering first-years. These scholarships can range anywhere from $2,000 a year to "full ride." The average amount granted for new full time students is $8,000. 36.8% of the entering class receive scholarships.

The majority of Creighton Law's students are enrolled in the full-time Juris Doctor program, which takes three years to complete. A small portion of the student body is is enrolled in the part-time JD program which takes approximately four years to complete.

In 2005, Creighton inaugurated the Werner Institute for Negotiation & Dispute Resolution which was funded by a $4 million donation from C.L. Werner, CEO of Werner Enterprises.

Creighton's dispute resolution program was ranked 12th in the nation in the 2009 edition of US News Best Graduate Schools.[1]

Creighton operates two major legal clinics. The Milton R. Abrahams civil law clinic offers free legal assistance on civil matters to low-income residents of Douglas County, Nebraska. The Civil Law Clinic offers free legal assistance on civil matters to low-income residents of Douglas County, Nebraska. The Community Economic Development (CED) Law Clinic has a goal of encouraging economic growth and stability .

Creighton's Law Review published in four annual editions. 1L students are selected based upon class standing or writing ability to work on the Law Review in their second and third years.

The Moot Court team at Creighton has received recognition for winning a number of regional and national moot court competitions.[2]

On a bi-annual basis, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas co-teaches a course on Constitutional law. His next course will be in the spring semester of 2009.

Once a year, the Nebraska Supreme Court holds session at Creighton law school. The most recent session was on April 3, 2008.

The law school completed a $3.6 million renovation and expansion of the law library in 1998.
