As of 11 a.m. AST (1500 UTC) October 1, Hurricane Isaac is located within 25 nautical miles of 34.4°N 60.3°W, about 930 miles (1495 km) SSW of Cape Race, Newfoundland. Maximum sustained winds are 70 knots (80 mph, 130 km/h), with stronger gusts. Minimum central pressure is 985 mbar (29.09 inches), and the system is moving N near 13 mph (20 km/h).
Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center, and tropical storm force winds up to 150 miles (240 km).
