[edit] Notability
I have restored the notability tag. The references in this article prove the subject exists as a photographer. But "existence" proved by refereence is not notability. Notability consists of third party significant critical attention, collection in a permanent (museum) collection, or inclusion in a significant (non-commercial) exhibition. References so far consist of non third party reference (books/articles written by the subject), or reviews of commercial exhibitions. Needs much more. 69.72.7.77 (talk) 05:31, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm writing to affirm that the subject is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in an encyclopedia. Most of the references come from the Chronicle which is published by the subject's employer and is, in fact, mostly a public relations tool. By Wikipedia standards, Chronicle articles do not constitute an objective review of the subject's significance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.220.21.13 (talk) 06:29, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
I'd note that subject would still be considered notable without the Chronicle articles. His co-founding of one of the country's first and leading photographic education workshops, plus his notability in the mid- to late 1980s concerning personal vision and alternative processes such as mordancage make the subject more notable than a nominal photographer. I'll work on a list of subject's commercial exhibitions and collections. notchcode (talk) 03:53, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
