I think Wikipedia needs a "self-righteous vandals" category.

If you disagree with my statement above, then refute it, don't simply remove it.

If it was a genuine suggestion, the proper place to discuss this sort of thing is at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. -Pete 21:25, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Closure of restaurant

SlimVirgin, I can attest the restaurant has been closed for some time. (I live about a mile away.) I only didn't put it in before because I lacked a handy source, and didn't know the date. Since the last edit was cited -- do you have any reason to doubt its validity? -Pete (talk) 01:49, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Pete, I only removed it because a single-purpose account was adding that book randomly to various articles. If you know it to be true, I see no reason not to add it, though it would be good if you could find a source that confirms it, maybe a local newspaper. But it will survive without a source until someone challenges it, which might be never. SlimVirgin talk|edits 14:19, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Gotcha, good call. I've put it back, but the unique circumstances of the closure seem to mean it wasn't covered very well. (It was sort of "quasi-closed" on again off again for some time, while local interest in the owner was fading.) I've now thoroughly searched all 4 local mainstream papers (Oregonian, Trib, WW, and the Mercury) and all I could come up with was a mention of the bakery that replaced it, and a passing mention that the restaurant had "bombed." -Pete (talk) 18:54, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
