[edit] Who I am
My name is Sam, I'm British, and was born in Stafford on June 8, 1985.
I am currently studying for a BEng in Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Birmingham.
I reside with my father and sister in Birmingham, having moved here in March 2006 from Kidderminster. Now back in Kidderminster.
[edit] What I do
During my spare time (the amount of which decreases the closer I get to the summer exams) I enjoy motorbiking, computer gaming, programming (Java, C#), maintaining my personal website (which I have written in PHP) and, of course, editing Wikipedia. My website has been partly taken down in preparation for a redesign over the summer months.
The motorbike I currently own is a 2003 Yamaha YZF-R6 having previously owned a 2002 Honda NSR 125. I ride solo during term time, and with friends during the holidays when they are home from university. I have two main riding 'buddies', who currently own a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 750 and a 2006 Kawasaki ZX-6R.
As regards computer gaming, I enjoy playing UT2004 and UT3, as well as a few other games I play less regularly. Recently I've been spending quite a lot of time with the Crysis Editor, having recently completed Assassin's Creed.
Currently I'm undertaking my finals, having recently completed my final year project. The project consisted of a Client-Server system interacting with a PostgreSQL database for managing a motorcycle racing team - with the software and report both complete and submitted I just have to hope I get a good result!
[edit] On Wikipedia
My Wikipedia time is spent removing vandalism, which I am able to do thanks to the help of several users. I initially thought it would be a reward-less task, but several members of Wikipedia have already thanked me for helping out. It is enough for me, though, to know that the articles I edit will be vandalism-free for the next user. The constant input of other users helps me become more effective at this each day.
I personally have found it quite frustrating to find an article has been altered when I am researching a topic, and if I save one person that same frustration then I will be more than content.
[edit] Notices
Main interests of late are AV (as always) and Featured Picture nominations over on Wiki Commons, mainly due to my love of photography!
Feel free to leave comments and questions on my talk page.
