Hello Admins,
An SVG version of the new Iraqi flag adopted yesterday is at Image:Flag of Iraq 2008.svg. Could someone update this page? Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hoshie (talk • contribs) 08:42, 23 January 2008

[edit] Iraqi Flag
Could someone fix the image links? First the 2004 version should point to Image:Flag of Iraq 2004-2008.svg. Second the basic flag images should point to Image:Flag of Iraq.svg instead of current Image:One_Year_Flag_of_Iraq.PNG. --Jhattara (Talk · Contrib) 10:52, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

- Why was a
2008variant added for an image nominated for deletion on Commons? — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 16:52, 23 January 2008 (UTC)- I think it was nominated because someone thought that the color of the inscription should be black instead of green. Apart from that I think it should stay there, but shouldn't be added as a variant in here until the flag changes again. --Jhattara (Talk · Contrib) 07:36, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation, and I agree with you. None of the other ~1000 flag templates use a variant for the current flag, as a "pre-emptive measure" against future flag change. (For example, there is no
1960variant for the USA 50 star flag just in case a 51st star is added someday.) — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 16:37, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
