Marine Sgt. Jason Tinnel stands up on a "Cougar" to watch the detonation of a weapons cache on the edge of Fallujah, Iraq, Dec. 20, 2004. The Cougar is a 28,550-pound hulk of a vehicle, wrapped in steel armor and ballistic glass and driven by a six-speed, split-shift, all-wheel drive transmission designed to get the vehicle through hazardous and uncertain terrain. |
