Courtney Pitt

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Courtney Pitt (born 17 December 1981) is an English footballer currently without a club after leaving Cambridge United at the end of the 2007/08 season.

Starting his career as a trainee at Chelsea, Pitt was approached by talent scouts from Spanish giants Barcelona at one stage. Despite this, his Chelsea career never took off and he joined Portsmouth, managed by his former coach Graham Rix, and he made thirty nine appearances, scoring three times following a £200,000 move.

Following loan spells at Luton Town and Coventry City the following season, the left winger followed Rix once again, this time to Oxford United where he made just eight appearances before leaving to join Boston United.

After twenty outings for the Lincolnshire club, he left at the end of the 2004/05 season and joined Cambridge United in September 2005.

Pitt made over 100 appearances for Cambridge and became something of a fans favorite.

In May 2008, Pitt was one of 5 players released by manager Jimmy Quinn following the Blue Square Play Off Final loss to Exeter City.
