[edit] Route Description
Dutchess County Route 9 starts at an intersection with Route 82 in Hopewell Junction. It progresses north while traveling parallel to the Beekman Country Club. It then intersect the Taconic State Parkway. Route 9 then turns on a northeasterly path as it precedes through an area with several small lakes as it intersects Route 10. Shortly after, it intersects Route 7 while turing north again. It passes west of the Town of Beekman Recreation Center before intersecting Route 55.[1]
Route 9 proceeds north for some time before reaching a roundabout intersection with County Route 21, which happens to be the only roundabout intersection in Dutchess County. It parallels the Clove Cemetery before becoming concurrent with Route 24. The concurrency is shot lived, as Route 9 soon splits off to the west of Route 24. It turns due-west, then due-north, and due-west again before reaching its end at Route 82 in Verbank.[2]
