Cottam Power Station is a 2008MWe coal-fired power station owned by EDF Energy. It is sited next to the River Trent at Cottam near Retford.

It opened in 1969 when owned by the CEGB. After electricity privatisation in 1990, it was owned by Powergen. In October 2000, the plant was sold to London Electricity, part of eDf, for £398m.

This is a 400MWe CCGT-type power station that runs on natural gas. It opened in September 1999, being a joint venture between Powergen and Siemens. In May 2002, the plant was bought out by Powergen for £52m.

It has one Siemens V94.3A (now called SGT5-4000F) gas turbine, which has one BENSON heat recovery steam generator and one steam turbine. Electricity from the plant, with a terminal voltage of 21kV, enters the National Grid via a transformer at 400kV. It has a thermal efficiency of 58%.
