Most recent edit is vandalism by User:Aetheling talked about a video game, and added decaying animal flesh. Also reverted the deletion by User:Ultramarine because Political corruption has more to do with politics, and politicians, the writting of laws. If police corruption, enforcers of the the law, is considered separate from policital corruption then clearly judicial, prosecutorial, and corruption in the law services industry are a valid separate topic.

HEY!! This article is a disambiguation page for the word "corruption". If you look in any dictionary at all, you will see that putrefaction and decomposition are primary meanings of the word corruption. You really need to see external text samples in which the word "corruption" is used in the sense of "putrefaction"? Okay, here are some:

In general, I agree with your comment on police corruption, although I do think a useful distinction can be made between the corruption of civilian institutions and the corruption of command heirarchies such as the police and the military. They differ profoundly in the methods by which the corruption can be repaired. Then too, there is also a distinction to be made between the corruption of an institution and the corruption of an individual — these are very different processes, but often confused in the public mind.

Does Corruption mean, "something that is evil but supposed to be good" Eg: a policeman taking a bribe is corrupted, Right?

but can it also mean like, if a cartoon is corrupted, it's all bloody and rude ETC, can it mean that too?

Corruption has many meanings. First of all as an verb it can mean taking something for your own good, but in the same way your are hurting people as a whole. It can also mean bad and rude as an adjective as well.


discuss: The term referring to 'taking something for personal gain' is GRAFT (eg. monetary). Implies extortion. EXPLOITATION is to take advantage of someone (for oneself, eg. slave labour). Implies abuse. GRIFT is to obtain money by trickery or con. Implies intent.

Corruption, in whatever form, still carries the connotation of something festering, rotten (ie. bad apple), or putrid. That is, something that once was good, has turned bad. So, someone able to speak truthfully at one time, now corrupt, is apt to misrepresent and lie.

how can anyone think of getting hurt by words such as "corrupt"etc. it's not the time to think personally about it.why to take the article on one's self and get hurt? it would be very impractical.corruption can only be tackled if people keep aside their personal problems and their ego.shubhada 18:09, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

The most disquieting aspect of the widespread corruption in India is the fact that it is not anymore confined to politicians or the government machinery alone. It is prevalent amongst almost every section of the society at every level.

As the practice of corruption is a dishonest act, one has to think that most of the Indians are dishonest, which could be different only in degree between the individuals. As the reason for the dishonesty is greediness and the desire to get things done at any cost one can think that most of the country men are greedy and do not anymore think that the means should justify the ends. This is not a flattering statement and many readers would desire that it would not be so and such statement could have been avoided. But, the fact is that most of the Indians are involved in corrupt practices in one way or the other, either due to greed or due to so called compulsion.
