Accelerometer on a rotating disk moving away from the hub. This image is an illustration for the article on the coriolis effect.
The square box with the black circle inside represents an accelerometer.
The black dot represents a weight that is suspended inside a box, held in place by springs. If the weight is not in equilibrium in the middle then the box is accelerating
Currently, (march 19, 2005) this image is not used in the coriolis effect article, but it may be reinserted in the article in the future.
