Cory Boyd (born August 6, 1985 in Orange, New Jersey) is an American football tailback. He was the starting tailback for the University of South Carolina prior to completing his eligibility. In 2006 he led the Gamecocks in rushing with 823 yards in 12 games. In 2005 he sat out due to receiving a suspension. Although he was projected to be a 5th or 6th round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft[1] Boyd was a 7th round pick (238th overall) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers[2]
Boyd is the only the second South Carolina player ever to gain 1000 yards both rushing and receiving in a career.[3]
Boyd played high school football and basketball at Orange High School.
He was drafted in the 7th Round, Pick 31 (238) in the 2008 NFL Draft.
